Ageism In Florida

Yes, you read that correctly. I have the privilege to live in the worlds largest retirement home, Florida. Apart from the 65% of old people who gang up on you for not needing a cane to walk two feet, living here is pretty great!

  No for real, I don't know the exact reason why most of the old people here are so mean. Their out here getting vitamin D, riding golf carts to the grocery store, and live far away from their grandkids, what more do they want? It's so nice to meet anyone here over the age of 60 that's kind and reminds you of your grandma, making cookies and calling you 'sugar-plum' or 'love-bug'.

  I don't think they realize that as great as it is to retire here, they also live where Disney World and Universal Studios is, where kids run rampant. I don’t want to generalize old people here because like I said before, it’s only around 65% of old people(just a rough guess from experience).

  I hate to hate on an age group because I just sound like a hypocrite, but I wouldn't be writing a blog post about this if it weren't an actual thing! I guess their just mad that all these young people are moving down here and they don't get to have the sunshine all to themselves.
