Something I've been anticipating for a month now is the release of the new Netflix original show called Erased. I watched the original anime version a little over a year ago and binged watched it over the course of two days. Netflix is putting a lot of money into their original shows at the moment so I was hoping this remake wouldn't disappoint.
"After Sarotu discovers his mother brutally murdered in his apartment, he goes back 18 years in time, before his classmate Kayo's kidnapping and murder"
Yeah, sounds crazy. The main Character, Sarotu, has what he likes to call "Revivals". Without a choice, he can go back moments in time to prevent an accident before it even happens. Going back 18 years to stop his classmate from getting kidnapped and murdered just seems a bit odd though. If he's had the "Revival's" all his life then why couldn't have he stopped it from happening 18 years ago?
A review on Netflix I completely agreed with mentioned how "the story of Erased was thought-provoking and is definitely worth watching" however I also agreed with their other statement "the live-action seems to be highly desaturated, and quite frankly, isn't at pretty in cinematography sense compared with the anime"
I'll watch the rest of the show and make an updated blog post. I can promise anyone who doesn't watch anime that the original version of Erased will be the one to get you hooked. I think I'll put a review of a very light-hearted anime that also has a very "The Fault In Our Stars" type of vibe to it. This is my third blog post for the "12 Days Of Christmas Blogging" challenge and I'm having a blast!
