I was told this quote today, and I really hope you love it. After talking about my view on relationships and how I see them as a waste of time if you don't end up married, the argument that was stated to me was this quote.
"Happiness is only real when shared"- Christopher McCandless
I thought about it all day, I am at my happiest when I am sharing it with others and surrounded by people who are enjoying the moment just as much as me. I can sit and laugh at jokes I read on the internet, I can laugh at T.V. shows, and I can laugh at myself by myself. But it is never really "happiness".
Your time with someone isn't wasted if it is spent being utterly happy. Now I think the worst heartbreak is worth years of your life not ending up with that person because if they made you happy and you cared about them then how was it wasted?
I used to think of relationships as being "tied down" and sacrificing a lot of your freedom for the happiness of someone, and apart of it is. But the bigger part of it is growing together, being happy together, and learning about what it means to love. My views on love are always changing because I've never felt that way about anyone, I just hope future heartbreaks don't jade me from remembering the biggest part of love, sharing happiness.
