"Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." -Dr.Seuss

I kept thinking of this quote today. I don't remember if I read it in the Dr.Seuss book itself or Pinterest, It just seemed to be in the back of my mind all day. My family and I were at the beach today. As the sun was setting I looked around me and saw hundreds of people taking photos, selfies, time-lapse videos.

Only a few were sitting and taking in the beauty, the sound of the waves, the birds fighting over a french fry a toddler dropped. Even my family was caught up in "capturing" the moment. I was feeling happy because of the sunset and sad for the people.

Moments like these, surrounded by people I love, Are more valuable to me than my life itself. I only have so much time in this world, I don't want to spend it looking through my phone to take a photo of a moment I'm living half the time.

If you love taking photos like I do, because there is so much beauty in this world, know that there's more to love when you're actually living. I just want people to remember that some moments need to be soaked in like the sun.
