At first, I thought this would be funny, but now that I've written it down in words it just made me realize that I'm publicly humiliating myself. It's okay though because we all have our quirks, one of mine just happens to be saying some words like I've never heard them before.

Melk(Milk)

I think this is the first word I was ever corrected on. I was probably around 1 years old, now I'm seventeen and still catch myself saying it. I have only ever met a handful of people who say milk the way I do.

Wench foods(Winco foods)

This is a west coast grocery store. I bonded with a few teammates when I was in swimming over this because we all said Winco foods the same way.

Pacifically(Specifically)

Now that I’m older I don’t catch myself saying, ‘specifically' wrong as often, it only happens when I'm tired or speaking too fast. I also just found out that it’s an actual word.

Definition: Tending to diminish or put an end to conflict; appeasing. 2. Of a peaceful nature; tranquil.

Sol(saw)

Again, I catch myself saying this occasionally but definitely not as bad as when I was younger.

Side note: I’m cringing at my Grammarly trying to correct my misspelling of all these words. I get it, I'm a disgrace to the English language.

Sault(Salt)

My sister argued with me for thirty minutes last night telling me I wasn't saying salt right, now she just thinks that I spent too much time in South Dakota and developed an accent.

Pellow(Pillow)

I get called out for this one a lot, but I don’t feel as embarrassed about it like most of the words I say wrong because half the people I meet say the same thing.

I don't think I mentioned all of them but, to be honest, I'll save myself from even more embarrassment. If you say any words wrong or with some sort of an accent I'd love to hear!
