As good as I am powering through a project with optimism and drive, I tend to be a big daydreamer. Sometimes it's a problem because I need to get work done. I was explaining this to my brother the other day and he suggested listening to the Skyrim soundtrack. And to my surprise, it totally works.

At first, I thought it would be too distracting, but it does the exact opposite. I tend to air guitar and lipsync 9/10 times the radio comes on. But instead of the Skyrim soundtrack taking me into the middle of a concert, it makes me feel as if I'm in my own little motivational movie montage.

"Video-game music is designed to foster achievements and help players get to the next level, and some people find that it activates a similar "in it to win it" mentality while working"-fastcompany.com

The music in the background of video games is designed for the player to feel motivated, focused, or even scared. like how horror movies use the low-frequency sound 12 Hz to make you scared, and you can't hear the noise! Video games don't use low-frequency sound, I'm just giving you an idea as to how the music makes you react to whatever your seeing or playing.

"Portal keeps you focused on puzzles. Fallout moves the cautious but stubborn explorer in you. The Legend of Zelda keeps you in awe of the open and optimistic world waiting for you to conquer it"-coolmaterial.com

The science behind it all is a lot different from horror movies music, and it's really intriguing. The soundtracks are created for the player to progress and achieve by increasing certain hormones in your body.

"Musical melodies can help increase dopamine production in the brain"-coolmaterial.com

I don't care if someone calls shenanigans, I wrote this blog post today with so much positive focus today! You can give Listening to some of the soundtracks linked below and decide for yourself.
