My whole family got the flu over a week ago and I may be the one that brought it home. I have locked myself and my sisters ferret in my bedroom to keep him from getting sick and have gone through four mini bottles of Purell. These are some thing's I have been doing to prevent myself from catching this super flu, I hope it helps you too.
Wash your hands!
Even if you feel like you washed your hands 20+ times in the last two hours you need to keep washing them with antibacterial soap. To prevent them from drying I recommend using moisturizing hand sanitizer.
Drink tea
I drink green tea with lemon and local honey every day.
Green tea:Green tea has Anti-infective properties that kill bacteria.-Source
Lemon:Lemon in tea helps cleanse your liver and flush out toxins in your system.-Source
Honey: Your local honey is good for you because consuming it builds a tolerance to your surrounding area's pollen, which in turn helps prevent seasonal allergies. Honey is also antibacterial.-Source
Carrot juice
Carrot juice is high in beta-carotene which fights germs and keeps the lining of your stomach healthy to prevent being infected by pathogenic organisms.-Source
Wash your sheets
I washed my sheets about four times this week. Bacteria can get into your clothes, and then you go to lay down after making everyone soup and get them all over your bed! Keeping your sheets clean is one of the most important things to do when you want to keep from catching a cold.-Source
