Who knew that eating bananas make you happy. There is an actual science behind it too. When I was in competitive swimming I would eat 3-6 bananas a day, I still love them. A quick breakfast, a perfect addition to any lunch, and even a midnight snack. Bright and conveniently pre-wrapped by nature.

Bananas contain a small amount of an amino acid called tryptophan, It’s an essential amino acid because your body can’t produce it itself. When you consume this amino acid your body converts it into a hormone called serotonin. This hormone is nicknamed the “cuddle hormone” because it’s the happiness you feel when you cuddle someone!

Consuming a healthy amount of bananas cannot only benefit your overall mood, but also other health benefits. Bananas are high in iron, vitamins B6, and help restore lost electrolytes. And of course, bananas are high in potassium so they are very good at boosting your energy.

Happy New Year, Everyone!
