Here is a tried and true list of items that are essential for a day at Universal Studios. I did so much research in order to be prepared for Universal, but once I got there, thinking I had everything that was recommended, I realized that I was missing some important items.

1.Portable charger   I didn't think twice about my phone dying for some reason and I really regret not bringing a portable charger. You’re going to be taking so many photos and Snapchats through the day in order to remember the magical getaway that is Universal Studios, so make sure to pack a charger.

2.More snacks On their website the acceptable items of food include,

  • Small snacks

  • Any food required for special dietary needs

  • Any food required for medical purposes and medically-indicated nutritional supplements

My family and I brought a bread bag full of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and asked if it was acceptable, they nodded and let us on our way. I do also recommend bringing some cliff bars and small fruits such as apples, oranges, and bananas.

3.Change of clothes   There are a few rides that say you will get, "sprinkled with water" when in reality you get drenched and they have towels and clothes available to buy at the end of the ride. Another reason to bring clothes is that once the sun goes down, it gets pretty cold. Unless it's in August or July, then you will just want a hoodie to cuddle up with to watch the fireworks and the ride back to your hotel.

4.New shoes

Trust me, you're six month old Nike's won't be able to handle an entire day at Universal Studios. You NEED nice and comfortable shoes, there is almost no place to sit down and rest your feet throughout the day. Even when I did have to brand new shoes on my feet and back were so sore it was hard to fall asleep, so just imagine how bad it would be if you went out in sandals, TOMS, or wedges.

5.Sunblock+chapstick   I saw so many people walking around with chapped lips and burnt shoulders. Your walking in the heat, you are going to need both of these. I was asked by so many people if they could have some of my sunblock because they ran out or weren't prepared for the extent of Florida's humid heat. I have no problem helping someone out, but sunblock is expensive. If you think you brought enough sunblock, bring more.
